Blue Rock (Vallejo)
Best Wind Directions
About This Spot
- small hike & fly site, around 400’ above LZ
- site often works well 1-2 hours before sunset, when the coastal marine layer is present
- there are 3 possible launch areas, launch lower in higher winds
- bail out landing is anywhere in the field out front, typically cross wind
- stay out front in high wind, wind can pick up and blow-back is possible
- be very aware that there is a lot of mechanical turbulence on the adjacent hill to the north as it is rocky and textured. It is very tempting to fly over there. Stay away. - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AHpmCNsV1g1ad4QwXFbuvCvJKOXeBIqpS4JXx1pAJQc/edit
