Bukhta Koktebel’ Pograntsy

The ridge is about 1000 m long and faces south wind that usually starts here as a sea breeze at noon and may last almost till sunset. Ridge soaring is great with spectacular views at one of the most attractive places of Crimea. Launching needs some experience since there is not much space. The spot is very popular and sometime may look like a swarm of bees with paragliders zooming along the coast. It is wise to take advice from locals where to launch and land best and expect rotors and rollers since they are not rare here, just lock on terrain and think where to expect them. Sometime the airspace may be closed for gliders by officials because of some undeclared reasons, so take patients and don’t be frustrated.
