Gunung Ledang
Best Wind Directions
About This Spot
Launch is quite steep facing South East and Intermediate or over only. Best winds are from Sth Est, Sth, Sth Wst. There is about 2.5 klm of Jungle to cover before reaching the Landing on a straight flight so watch out for strong winds and penetration. Another reason not for beginners Can also fly if wind is light from the back when thermic. Site tends to cloud in quite often and be unlaunchable. Early morning is best to avoid this. Launch area is on the upside left of the road in about 80 meters and about 2Klm before reaching the top of Gunung Ledang.
Recommend Check the weather forecasts as clouding in is a regular occurrence.
Takeoff altitude: 1025m

Access Notes
Takes 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur to launch going south on express way E2 heading to Singapore. Turn left at the Tankak Exit on to Rd 23 and the Gunung Ledang road is left of Rd23 about 2 to 3klm on the other side of Tankak. If you have reached Sagil you have missed it. Its not well posted so need to keep an eye out for a dirt raod. There is a national Park Toll half Way up to get into the National Park.Last time I went it was Locals MYR5, foreigners MYR10. There is a waiver if you contact the GL National Park Management. Contact KL paragliding forum for details. kl-paragliding@yahoogroups.com
