Hohe Wand East

There are two takeoffs: the most common one is the 'Oststartplatz' (east-TO) which is about 15 minutes walk from the 'Postl' car park. It is used for NE-SE winds, a clearing in the woods, so it may be turbulent if the wind comes over the trees (danger here!).
The other takeoff is the 'Suedstart' used for SE-S winds, a cliff launch just a few 100 m south of the Postl-Restaurant. You should know what you are doing if you launch there.

Hohe Wand is oriented SE and a rock cliff, so it is likely to produce good thermals all year round beginning in the mornings. It will often provide good lift until sundown.
It is rather difficult to leave the site for XC, some flatland flying will be involved no matter what.
Be aware of very high traffic on weekends. There will be paragliders, hang gliders, sailplanes and model aircraft sharing the same lift band!
