About This Spot

Two take-off locations at 30 and 40m asl over a thin sand beach on the Black Sea. Location for take-offs is just on the edge of the town of Karaburun, between it and the nature preserve to the west. Soaring possible for 5-10 km with stable N or NNE wind.

An OK site, but nothing fancy. Depending on wind direction and strength, it may be only big enough for a few pilots to fly at the same time. Best windspeed for soaring is more than 18kph. Best direction is N, with some possibility NNW and more NNE.

Istanbul (European side) head to O2 ring road to north exit 2, head to Kemerburgaz and continue until you run out of modern road and track through villages toward Karaburun.
