There are only small roads on the west, so hitch-hiking back may be difficult if you are not on the main roads or in week-ends.
Great XC start works best in light South thermic conditions but North can be good as well.

Access Notes
Paved road (except last kilometer to the summit) - suitable for 2WD. Route access is via the south side of the mountain near Chateauneuf de Chabre and is well signposted.
