About This Spot

This takeoff can be challenging and in general this is considered to be an IPP3 takeoff! This is because the wind-conditions.

The take off is on en edge of a cliff, and the wind can be turbulent at the take off. An alternative take off can be found to the right of the normal take off. This has limits on the wind direction, but it quite a bit easier.

If uncertain, please contact the local club for more information

Nice place to fly acro since you fly over a small lake (fresh water). The club do not have a boat there.

Access Notes

Drive to Årdal, Ryfylke. Exit at the crossing towards Høiland Gard. About 100 meters turn left towards a white farm. Drive up to this farm next to the parking area. Pay 50 NOK in the wooden box. If the box is missing, please walk to the farm and pay the farmer. Smile :) The rules for the toll road is: 1: Pay if you drive up with the purpose to fly (it don't matter if you fly or not) 2: Pay if you are picking up cars at take off with pilots with intention of flying. 3: If the purpose is just to pick up cars it is free to drive up. Follow the road all the way up to the top. And please drive carefully to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the road. Expect sheep and cows on the road. On the top where the road levels out you park on the field on the opposite side of the road going up to the left (next to a big rock). Please park in such way that other cars can pass. Walk up the road to the left. At the end of the road, turn left and you reach the take off. This is the upper takeoff. We rent this road from the land owner, so please show respect and drive carefully.
