Tkhibuli Crater

About This Spot
Only one flight completed in Tkhibuli so far. Complex winds, as winds from the pass feed the thermal that runs up along the crater. One short flight yielded very strong thermals (9 m per second+), lots of turbulence and one major collapse.
This site has much potential, but needs to be explored further by experienced pilots. If you rise above the launch site, you have a fantastic view of the entire Caucasus range.
Takeoff altitude: 1285m
