About This Spot
Probably the best PG site in all Usambaras as well as Tanzania. Does not necessitate any special local PG service, all experienced and travelling pilots can manage. Fantastic for both soaring as well as long XC. Even with no lift there is 1000m altitude difference and superb views.
You can travel to Lushoto from all major cities by express buses. (Around 10 €/USD from Arusha or Dar.) A week or two of flying and other tourism in this region is definitely worth while, there is good climate and a lot to do. Hotels and dining are found in all price ranges.

Access Notes
Parking is just 50m from the TO. Easiest by motorbike to the TO owners hut, just 2 €/USD ride from Lushoto. Or, if you like more convenience or are in a group, with a good 4WD vehicle (the contacts are below). NB! Ordinary 4WD Suzuki taxis cannot take you there.

Known Hazards
This is a privately owned and specifically prepared PG site, with a long history of PG. 1 €/USD normal visitor fee and 5 €/USD per PG pilot. No airspace restrictions nearby. The owner has a simple but cosy hut for rest and accommodation next to take off, too. TO assistance available and weather info can we acquired by phone.
